This was a super fun exercise, I originally intended on doing a crayon background, but as I sketched, I sort of fell into a painterly style, just building on top of what I had over and over and sort of sculpting it. I haven't had this much fun drawing in a while, and I'll definitely be exploring works like this more often. I think it was also a very welcome relief to not be drawing something with fur XD

This was all freehand, drawn in SAI using only the marker tool.
